The upcoming coronation of King Charles III has made both royal watchers and the general public very excited and eager. As part of the celebrations, a coronation concert with some of the biggest names in the entertainment business has been planned.
A lot of talented people are going to perform at the concert, so it should be a night to remember. Fans of the royal family and music fans are both looking forward to this historic event, which will show how royalty and entertainment come together.
Celebrities to Perform at King Charles’ Coronation Concert
A few names known to the royal family will appear at King Charles III’s Coronation Concert, including Katy Perry, Andrea Bocelli, and Lionel Richie. The BBC, which will broadcast the musical celebration from Windsor Castle’s grounds on May 7, reported the news on Friday.
The British Asian Trust’s Children’s Protection Fund, whose work includes on-the-ground initiatives to fund-raising, with the aim to find solutions to child trafficking, will be further highlighted by Perry, 38, who was appointed by Charles to the organization in 2020. “I am excited to be performing at the Coronation Concert,” Perry said.
Richie, 73, added in his own statement that this “once-in-a-lifetime” show is “an honor and a celebration.” Richie was named the first global ambassador for Charles the Prince’s Trust charity in February 2021, which at the time led to rumors that he would one day perform at the Coronation Concert. Prince Harry also attended King Charles III’s coronation.
The 64-year-old international opera sensation Bocelli and the 57-year-old Welsh baritone Sir Bryn Terfel are scheduled to perform a duet, and British classical-soul composer Alexis Ffrench will also be present. The band Takes That, without Robbie Williams, and the English singer-songwriter Freya Ridings, along with a choir group of 300 singers from all four of the United Kingdom’s countries, will also perform at the Coronation Concert.

In addition, viewers can anticipate a spectacular display of lights, lasers, drones, and projections that will undoubtedly rank among the evening’s “highlights,” according to a BBC report. The public showcase is anticipated to draw around 20,000 fans along with a few yet-unidentified royals.
The upcoming weeks will bring news of additional acts. According to reports, Charles only attended one “informal” coronation rehearsal at Buckingham Palace. On May 6, the actual event will take place at Westminster Abbey in London, and the concert will follow that day.
