It appears that Taylor Swift is practicing on stage in preparation for her The Eras Tour. Unaware concertgoers at The 1975’s London performance on January 12 were utterly shocked when Swift entered the stage at the O2 arena to perform one of the band’s iconic songs and live-debut her most recent hit single.
Swift enters the stage in a glittering silver dress and surveys the adoring crowd in a fan-shot video. Other times, the singer tries her hand at the acoustic guitar-assisted rendition of The 1975’s “The City,” a fan-favorite track from the group’s self-titled debut album.
Cleaning up/He got good with his fours and twos/Counting cards was the best job he’d ever had/Before the song’s catchy pre-chorus, Swift crooned, “Community service was the best job he ever had/ Cleaning up/ He got sick on the floor and his shoes.
But Swift had other songs in mind as well. The mega-star further shocked the crowd by performing “Anti-Hero” for the first time. Given how popular the song has become, which is presently in its seventh week on the Billboard Hot 100, the entire stadium sang along to Swift’s catchy refrain, “It’s me, hi/ I’m the problem, it’s me.”
Swift won’t have to wait long to dust off her best acoustic guitars because she will soon be on the road for The Eras Tour, which will get underway in Glendale, Arizona, on March 17.
