Rep. Lauren Boebert from Colorado said on Tuesday that she has filed for a divorce from her husband of 18 years, Jayson Boebert. She said the choice was “much more difficult” because she has always been faithful and believes “strongly” in marriage. The Colorado Sun was the first to report that on April 25, Boebert filed for a divorce from her husband. In a message to the newspaper on Tuesday, the Republican congresswoman confirmed the story, saying, “It is with a heavy weight on my heart that I have filed for a divorce from my husband.”
She added: “I am grateful for our years of marriage together and for our beautiful children, all of whom deserve privacy and love as we work through this process.”
Then she talked about how she had never been unfaithful. “I’ve always been faithful to my wife, and I truly believe in marriage, which makes this news even harder. This is really about differences that can’t be solved.” Boebert, a devout Christian, didn’t say what these “irreconcilable differences” were and said she wouldn’t “discuss this matter any further in public.” But The Colorado Sun saw court papers that said Jayson Boebert was “extremely angry” when he got the divorce papers.

Insider says that Lauren Boebert and Jayson Boebert married in June 2005. Jayson Boebert was accused of showing his penis in a bowling alley bar a year before he and his wife-to-be married. He pleaded guilty and went to jail for public indecency and indecent exposure.
In her book My American Life, which came out in July 2022, Boebert said that her husband “didn’t do what he was accused of” but that Jayson “needed the alcohol and anger management classes that came with the plea deal.”
In the book, she also talked about how she met her husband when she was 16 and working at Burger King. “Jayson and I got married four months after we met,” Boebert wrote. Boebert wants to be able to make decisions for the couple’s four boys and get money for them.
In March, the congresswoman said that their oldest son, Tyler, who was 17 at the time, was having a child with his teenage girlfriend. This meant that Boebert, who was 36 then, would soon become a grandmother.
