The protagonist of Five Nights at Freddy’s is a young man named Mike Schmidt, who accepts the position of nighttime security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. This family entertainment complex includes a pizza and an indoor amusement park.
As Mike adjusts to his new job, he quickly learns something unsettling: the numerous (and incredibly frightening) mechanical mascots used to amuse families during the daytime is more than just your average robot.
In reality, they are still alive and wracked with rage; they will kill anyone inside the structure after midnight. Naturally, none of this is good news for night-shift guard Mike, who must make the most of the scarce resources available to protect himself from the dangerous robots and make it through the grueling 12- to 6-hour shift.
