At Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Maya Oakley is a student majoring in Political Science specializing in International Relations. She also decided to pursue a minor in Spanish.
Maya became interested in political science in high school when she enrolled in a course. She was introduced to her enthusiasm for learning about various cultures and how they interact through this encounter.
Her ultimate goal is to use her expertise in a future profession that will allow her to help people and positively impact the planet. Spending quality time with her loved ones, reading, and playing tennis are some of Maya’s favorite past times.
Maya Oakley Illness
In June 2020, Maya Oakley tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, putting her respiratory system at severe risk and perhaps her life in danger. But despite everything, she overcame the disease and won the battle, gradually regaining her health.
Maya’s mother, Dr. Michelle Oakley, updated worried fans on her daughter’s condition via her TikTok account during her healing process. No severe health issues have been documented for Maya as of yet. She is well right now, and as of 2023, there have been no reports of any problems that would affect her health.

Who Are Maya Oakley’s Parents?
Maya Oakley’s loving parents are Shane and Dr. Michelle Oakley. Dr. Michelle Oakley, Maya’s mother, is a well-known veterinarian and the star of the enduringly famous TV show “Dr. Oakley, Yukon Vet.”

Dr. Oakley, who works in television, also manages a small animal clinic in the Yukon area. Maya’s parents met while they were both attending college. Michelle had organized a trip to the Yukon when she was still a student at the University of Michigan.
She happened to meet Shane on this occasion, who would go on to become Maya’s father. Their chance encounter in the Yukon marked the start of their journey as a couple and, ultimately, as loving parents to Maya.
