When the names of an actor’s parents are hyperlinked on their Wikipedia page, you know there’s a potential nepo baby in the mix. Even if you’ve never heard of them, you’re just a click away from learning how the actor gained a prospective leg up in the entertainment industry.

Who are Ben Platt’s Parents?
To say Ben is a nepotism baby is an understatement. Marc Platt, his father, is a hugely successful producer who has worked on some of Hollywood’s biggest hits. To name a few, have you seen Legally Blonde, Drive, or Stephen Spielberg’s Bridge of Spies? That’s merely the tip of the iceberg in Tinseltown.
Marc is also a successful Broadway producer. Wicked was his debut Broadway show, for which he received a Tony Award. He went on to win two additional Tony Awards for The Band’s Visit and A Strange Loop, which went on to earn a Pulitzer Prize. Marc stated in February 2023 that he would bring La La Land to the stage.
He said at the time to The Hollywood Reporter-
“We’ve assembled a world-class team to create a musical that will delight La La Land’s millions of current fans and introduce the property to a whole new audience.”
Ben’s mother, Julie Platt, is less well-versed in Hollywood than his father, but she’s still an outstanding woman. According to the Jewish News Syndicate, she is the Jewish Federations of North America Board of Trustees chair. Julie, a former banker, has “focused on promoting Jewish education and helping to rescue the Jewish camp movement during the pandemic,” according to the news agency.
Julie is only the second woman to serve as chair of the JFNA, and she aims to help other women as well.
“I read a study that says that women won’t put their names up for a position unless they think they have 80 percent of the qualities, while a man will do so at 20 percent,” she told the news agency.
“There are a lot of competent women, and I’d like to help them become confident women and to raise their hands. I will do everything I can to make sure that women feel empowered to take positions in which they are completely capable.” Julie is fantastic!

Is Ben Platt Married or Single?
Ben Platt got engaged in November 2022. Ben proposed to his boyfriend, Noah Galvin, in November 2022 and celebrated with cute Instagram images. “He agreed to hang out forever,” Ben commented beside the adorable photos. In Dear Evan Hansen, they both played the titular Evan Hansen, with Noah succeeding Ben, who received a Tony Award for depicting the awkward youngster.
Noah revealed their relationship in a May 2020 Little Known Facts podcast episode. Ben revealed more about their relationship on The Kelly Clarkson Show a little over a year later.
“We’ve been friends for like five years, and right before the pandemic, we finally decided to give it a real shot,” he told Kelly. “We’ve kind of skated around it for a long time. And then it was like zero to sixty.”
