After being detained on July 10 in the Cayman Islands for narcotics possession, supermodel Gigi Hadid was freed last Wednesday. The supermodel and a friend were detained at the Owen Roberts International Airport as they were departing on an all-girls trip to the Cayman Islands.

Later, bail was paid to release Hadid and her buddy. They accepted responsibility, were each fined $1,000, and are no longer under investigation. The spokesperson for Hadid claimed that she had obtained the marijuana legitimately in New York City with a medical license and that Grand Cayman has legalized its medical usage since 2017.

According to her agent, “Gigi was traveling with marijuana that she purchased legally from NYC with a medical license”. Since 2017, marijuana has also been permitted in Grand Cayman for medical purposes. She continued to have a clean record and loved her remaining time on the island.
