Dragon Ball Kakumei will be adapted into an anime series, according to their creator. Not only did Reenko make the announcement, but he also shared a visual with followers on Twitter as a first glimpse at Goku and Beerus.
Here's what the animation art direction for #DRAGONBALLKAKUMEI will look like, clearly inspired by Shintani, Character Designer of the DB Super Broly movie, @poissonlabo will be handling the animation on his own, so it'll take him some time, but he's working at breakneck speed! pic.twitter.com/qpGgFQalxO

Many people are surprised that a doujinshi will be adapted into an anime, considering this is a project that will not be undertaken by a large studio. Furthermore, because the manga is currently in progress, the project itself is experimental.
When is the Dragon Ball Kakumei Anime Going to Be Released?
As of currently, no release dates for the Dragon Ball Kakumei anime adaptation have been announced. However, Reenko recently announced that it is simply the first episode that is in the works. Because this is a solo project undertaken by the artist Poisson Labo, it is planned to be released near the end of 2023.
Reenko further stated that their reported online anime adaption is not the same as this project, which is exclusive and independent in nature.
What Will the Dragon Ball Kakumei Anime Be About?
The Dragon Ball Kakumei is a doujinshi, which is a fan-created work by Reenko. It picks up after the Tournament of Power and the events that transpire between Goku and Beerus. It was when Universe 7 won the tournament, allowing Android 17 to use the dragon balls to make a wish.
This resulted in massive changes when the latter chose to restore the universes that had already been obliterated. The Dragon Ball Kakumei anime will follow the same plot as the manga. Although it is experimental and premature, it will not succeed in the manga and will not attempt to take over the tale in any way.
Furthermore, the characters were influenced by Shintani, the original Character Designer of the Dragon Ball Super Broly film. As of now, only the first chapter of the manga is slated to be adapted into an anime.

What Will the Dragon Ball Kakumei Anime Characters Look Like?
The Dragon Ball Kakumei anime was heavily influenced by Shintani’s works, as were his character designs in the Dragon Ball Super Broly film. Furthermore, Reenko has indicated that Poisson Labo will be taking over the animation altogether, at least for the first episode. It will take time for this to be released, and the makers will then decide on the next steps.
Reenko also adds that Poisson Labo is a talented artist whose character designs would be important in the eventual anime adaptation. Because he has been linked with Dragon Ball Kakumei for some time, the creator believes he is the appropriate person for the job of visualizing and animating the next franchise.
Fans were also concerned since the graphics do not resemble the characters in the manga, to which the producers responded that such intricate details of manga characters are not practicable or achievable without a competent animation studio.
Conclusion
Given the amount of work that has gone into fan-made stories, the Dragon Ball Kakumei franchise has done exceptionally well. It takes a special kind of creator to take on a project with such high risks.
As a result, while the Dragon Ball Kakumei anime may not be a complex animation, it will serve as a stepping stone for lesser animators, artists, and producers to venture into commercial animation.
