On November 29, 2021, her husband Jim announced something by uploading a Facebook post. Jim disclosed at the time that his wife was battling terminal severe lung cancer.
Following that, Shockey and his entire family were showered with supportive comments from their well-wishers. Since then, Jim has gotten married, and he has shared numerous memories on his social media accounts.
