Who is Marta Xargay?
Marta was a basketball player, just like her wife. When Marta signed on as a guard with the Phoenix Mercury in February 2015, she made her WNBA debut. She also participated in the 2016 Summer Olympics for Spain, winning a silver medal with the nation’s women’s basketball team.
With the caption “Goodbye, but you will always be in my memories and I will always treasure the memories that I created with you,” Marta announced her retirement from the sport in 2021.

Breanna ruptured her Achilles tendon in April 2019, necessitating a return trip to the United States for treatment. Marta originally didn’t want to go on the climb, but it turned out to be the perfect site for the proposal in Phoenix, Arizona.
“I was complaining because she wanted to go hiking. You know Phoenix is super hot so I was just like, ‘I don’t want to be outside.’ She planned the whole day, telling me let’s go for a walk, do something, take pictures. I was like, ‘Okay, let’s do it,’ “ she told the Arizona Republic days after the proposal.
