The brilliant wide receiver and return specialist for the NFL, Mecole Hardman, has recently dealt with injury issues that have affected his play on the football field. The intensity and duration of an injury’s effects can vary, but they are a regular aspect of an athlete’s career.
It is advised to check trustworthy sports news sources or official statements from the NFL or Mecole Hardman’s organization, the Kansas City Chiefs, to acquire the most up-to-date and accurate information about his injury status.
Mecole Hardman Injury
Before suffering an injury, Hardman was starting to make strides in the final season of his rookie deal. The Georgia native scored two more touchdowns on the ground in addition to his three scores on 17 receptions for 226 yards in Weeks 5–9.
But once he started skipping games, he didn’t come back until the AFC Championship Game, where he played 15 offensive snaps. Since Hardman’s injuries prevented him from participating in the Super Bowl, he had surgery in the offseason before the free agency process began.

The Chiefs are hoping that Hardman can add some speed to the offense given the wideout room’s difficulties in 2023. Although there hasn’t always been the ideal relationship between them on the field, he is also familiar with the offensive strategy and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Hardman joins a team that now relies on Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Skyy Moore, Rashee Rice, and Kadarius Toney at the top because veteran Justin Watson is currently recovering from an elbow injury, while Richie James is still on the injured reserve list.

Mecole Hardman Career
From 2016 until 2018, Hardman was a player at Georgia. He collected 60 receptions for 961 yards and 11 touchdowns throughout the course of his career. He excelled as a return specialist, returning 39 punts for 592 yards and a score and 35 kickoffs for 875 yards.
His sophomore season versus Alabama in the College Football Playoff National Championship produced one noteworthy score. In the third quarter of the 26-23 overtime defeat, he grabbed an 80-yard pass from Jake Fromm. He made the decision to bypass his senior year and join the 2019 NFL Draft after his junior season.
Hardman amassed 28 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns in Week 7’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, in addition to four receptions for 32 yards and a receiving touchdown. He made history by being the first wide receiver to score both on the ground and once in the air in the same Super Bowl.
He had an abdomen injury in Week 9 and was put on injured reserve on November 17, 2022. On January 4, 2023, Hardman was activated off injured reserve. Hardman did make a comeback in the AFC Championship, but he suffered an abdominal injury and missed Super Bowl LVII. Hardman won his second Super Bowl after the Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35.
