Following his announcement that he is leaving “The Voice,” Blake Shelton acknowledged that he intends to do a little bit of nothing. In October 2022, Shelton, 46, first broke the news.
The singing competition’s host for the previous 12 years had been a star of country music. During Monday’s “Today” edition, the “Nobody But You” singer said he began considering leaving the program in 2020.
“I think I was close to calling it a day right when COVID hit,” he told host Carson Daly.”And then, because of COVID, I didn’t want to walk away from the show and leave everybody in a bind,” he added. “I mean, this show changed my life. I’ll stay here until the world kind of gets back to normal again.”

Blake Shelton said that “The Voice” not only altered his career life but also his personal life. Shelton confessed, “I met my wife on this show. “It’s transformed my life in every way that can be impacted, personally.”
When Shelton was a coach for “The Voice” in 2014, he first met Gwen Stefani. Both of them were involved in other relationships at the time. The couple eventually started dating after divorcing in the summer of 2015. Stefani accepted Shelton’s marriage proposal in 2020, and the two were wed the following year.
According to Shelton, “everything in my life was turned upside down when I came on as a coach on this show. “And I mean that in a nice sense. Although this has been amazing, the time has come, you know. Even what comes after now is time. It would be lovely to do nothing for a while.”
After taking a year off, Kelly Clarkson will return to “The Voice” for season 23. Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper, two brand-new hosts, are present with her and Shelton.
Shelton made fun of Clarkson’s return to the “Today” show by joking that he might have stayed on. He said, “I wish Kelly weren’t on the show anymore. The country singer joked about how there was “simply too much Kelly Clarkson on television, in general.”
