Jack Dorsey has now started an app that is similar to Twitter. This puts an end to rumors that he might return to Twitter as CEO. Dorsey stepped down as CEO of Twitter in November 2021.
There were rumors that he would return to the company because of his growing friendship with Twitter’s new CEO, Elon Musk. But it looks like they would be better off as rivals than as friends. Dorsey’s Bluesky, which is still blue like Twitter, is now in the testing phase in the Apple App Store.
TechCrunch says that Bluesky, the upcoming microblogging platform, is available on the App Store as an invite-only beta. The app is probably getting closer to being released to the public. In October of last year, Bluesky wrote a blog post about the protocol that makes the app work.

Bluesky was made to be a new social media protocol that doesn’t have a central location. “Bluesky was created to build a social protocol. In the spring, we released “ADX,” the very first iteration of the protocol. Over the summer we improved and simplified ADX’s design, and today we’re sharing a preview of what’s to come,” the blog said.
A protocol is mostly a set of rules or standards that tell devices or programs how to talk to each other. In this case, the protocol would say how Bluesky-powered social media platforms would talk to each other.
The first version of the protocol that Bluesky put out in the spring is called “ADX.” This first version was probably more complicated and less polished than the team had hoped. So, over the summer, they worked to make ADX’s design easier to use and better.
Data.ai, an app intelligence company, says that the Bluesky app was released on February 17 and that more than 2,000 people have tested it. In terms of how to use it, it’s quite similar to Twitter. “What’s up?” is what Bluesky asks instead of “What’s happening?”
Bluesky users can block, share, and mute accounts just like they can on Twitter. But users don’t yet have the option to add people to the list. Aside from that, users do get suggestions for “who to follow.” “Another tab lets you check on your Notifications, including likes, reposts, follows, and replies, also much like Twitter. There are no DMs,” the report said.

The project is backed by Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of Twitter, and seemingly has a similar interface to Twitter.
