On Wednesday, singer Ed Sheeran revealed on Instagram that his wife Cherry Seaborn had a tumor discovered during the second pregnancy of their children. In a lengthy blog post about his most recent album, “Subtract,” which he said was filled with his “deepest darkest thoughts,” Sheeran made the announcement.

Within a month, Sheeran’s wife learned she had a tumor and wouldn’t be able to receive therapy until after giving the baby. The second girl born to the 32-year-old and Seaborn was announced in May. Lyra, the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, is another child.

The singer rarely posts about his personal life and he and Seaborn are quite private. 2019 saw the couple’s wedding, according to BBC News. His wife’s health was not mentioned in the statement, but CBS News has contacted a spokesman for more information.

Sheeran cited further challenging situations he encountered last year in his post. He wrote,

“My greatest buddy Jamal, a brother to me, passed very abruptly.”

According to BBC News, British businessman Jamal Edwards is credited with providing Ed Sheeran with his big breakthrough his media company SBTV. His relatives reported that he passed away at age 31 from a “sudden illness” in February 2022.

Sheeran spoke to a lawsuit about his 2017 song “Shape of You” in which it was claimed that Sheeran copied the song from an artist by the name of Sami Switch. “I found myself standing in court defending my integrity and career as a songwriter,” Sheeran stated. In April 2022, Sheeran obtained a victory.

“I was in a fear, depression, and anxiety spiral. I felt like I was drowning because my head was below the water and I couldn’t get my breath by looking up “He kept up his position. Sheeran claimed to have spent a decade working on “Subtract,” but the events of 2022 altered his outlook on life, mental health, and music and art. The album’s entirety was thus substituted with his “deepest darkest thoughts” around a week ago.

He claimed that making songs is his form of therapy and that he “simply penned whatever tumbled out” when creating this album. For the first time, he said,

“I’m just putting something out that’s honest and genuine to where I am in my adult life. I’m not trying to build an album people will like.”

Apparently, the record is scheduled to be released on May 5. “Subtract” comes after a string of other albums with mathematical themes, including “Plus,” “Multiply,” “Split,” and “Equals.”
