Julia Fox’s brother Christopher Fox (“Uncut Gems”) was detained on a number of drug and weapon-related offenses. Fox, 30, was detained on Wednesday after the New York Police Department searched a home as part of an ongoing investigation into ghost firearms and drugs, the NYPD reported in an email to USA TODAY on Thursday. The apartment in Upper Manhattan is home to Fox.
The equipment for pressing drug pills was also taken by the NYPD’s Ghost Gun Unit, according to a statement from an NYPD spokesperson. The team also found a variety of compounds that can be used to make drugs as well as pressure cookers, which are frequently seen as parts of explosives. The discovered compounds were determined to be safe.
Fox was detained on seven separate counts, including manufacturing a machine gun, a rapid-fire mod device, a dangerous instrument, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a handgun, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. The official further stated that there is “no obvious relation to terrorism” and that “the matter is thought to be contained.” A thorough investigation is in progress.
