In relation to the shooting de@th and robbery of rapper XXXTentacion in South Florida in 2018, three individuals were found guilty on Monday. On Monday morning, the judgments were delivered by a jury in Broward County.
For the ambush that resulted in the de@th of XXXTentacion, Michael Boatwright, 27, Dedrick Williams, 26, and Trayvon Newsome, 24, were all found guilty of first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm. The real name of the rapper was Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy.
The trial, which lasted nearly a month, came to a close on Monday with the judgments after slightly more than seven days of deliberation. Every convicted offender is anticipated to be sentenced to life in prison. At the time of his passing, Onfroy was 20 years old and had double- and quadruple-platinum recordings in addition to a devoted cult following both inside and outside of his South Florida community.
He was a rising star whose career was about to take off, even as he was being investigated for allegedly assaulting a past girlfriend. Onfroy was shot numerous times by the convicted killers as he was behind the wheel of his BMW, which was parked outside of a RIVA Motorsports business in Deerfield Beach, according to the authorities. A surveillance camera recorded the lethal armed robbery. The horrific video was shown to the jury at the criminal trial for Boatwright, Williams, and Newsome in February, according to CBS Miami. At the parking lot of the motorcycle shop, it showed an SUV approaching Onfroy’s vehicle before halting perpendicular to the BMW and blocking its entrance to the street.
Two masked persons can be seen stepping out of the vehicle and walking up to Onfroy’s car’s driver-side window. A fight breaks out, and one of the attackers shoots a gun through the window to stop it. Afterward, both suspects made off with $50,000 in cash that Onfroy had in a Louis Vuitton satchel when the shooting occurred, according to trial testimony.
Prosecutors claimed that he had intended to use the funds to buy a motorcycle from the store. According to the prosecution, Boatwright and Newsome were the perpetrators captured on camera, and the fatal gunfire came after a clear altercation about money.
According to the prosecution, Boatwright was the shooter, and Newsome is accused of firing a loaded gun into the BMW. According to testimony given in court, Williams was operating the getaway car and was still inside the SUV when the shooting occurred.
A fourth man, 26-year-old Robert Allen, was previously detained and accused of being involved in the slaying of Onfroy. In August of last year, Allen entered a plea of guilty to a charge of second-degree murder. He then spoke in court as the first witness for the prosecution. Due to his claimed involvement in the murder, he could still receive a life sentence in jail.
The charge that the violent robbery that took place before Onfroy’s de@th was carefully planned was the foundation of the prosecution’s case. The three defendants in the case came up with a plan the day before the shooting in Deerfield Beach, on June 16, which comprised hiring a car and driving around the neighborhood to commit numerous robberies, according to the prosecution’s case presentation to the jury in Broward County.

They allegedly decided to target Onfroy after spotting him leave the motorcycle shop’s parking lot, where they were planning to buy a face mask. According to CBS Miami, the prosecutor Pascale Achille depicted the defendants as “predators” during closing arguments earlier this month and displayed cellphone camera evidence to the jury that appeared to show the defendants grinning and joking with stacks of $100 notes.
