On Sunday, Jen Psaki, the press secretary of the White House has tested positive for coronavirus, she confirmed in a statement, stating that on Tuesday she had last interacted with President Joe Biden.
Biden Tested Negative for Covid-19
Psaki, who is 42 years old, confirmed that she was fully vaccinated and developed mild symptoms, stated that she and the president had been sitting outside with a distance of more than 6 feet (1.8 m) in between and had also worn masks on Tuesday. However, a person familiar with the matter has confirmed that on Saturday, Biden has tested negative for coronavirus.
It was stated by Psaki “I am disclosing today’s positive test out of an abundance of transparency.”
Psaki, who is the chief spokesperson for the White House, is the utmost prominent person in the Biden administration heard to have been infected with COVID-19 as he took office in January.
Psaki had decided against not joining Biden on his visit to Rome and Glasgow this week as a member of her family had tested positive for the coronavirus, following which she quarantined herself, as confirmed by her.
Since Wednesday, she has been in isolation and had continuously tested negative before testing positive on Sunday, she stated.
As stated by her in a statement, she intended to get back to work after 10 days of quarantine period after a negative rapid COVID-19 test.
