NBA Twitter Slammed the Nets for Their Poor Shooting in a Rout of the Celtics

Wednesday night’s game against the Boston Celtics was a tough one for the Brooklyn Nets, as neither Kevin Durant nor Ben Simmons was on the floor. The team’s other members might as well have been sidelined as well.

Boston blew out Brooklyn 139-96 at TD Garden, with Jayson Tatum scoring 31 points and grabbing nine rebounds to lead the way.

To go along with Kyrie Irving’s 20 points to lead the winless Nets, Jaylen Brown scored 26. Conor Ryan responded in a tweet, which we’ve included below:

Shooting just 23.1 percent from beyond the arc, the Nets’ attempts in this game would have been lucky to make contact with a medicine ball (9-of-39). They also lost badly on the boards, 57-32.

Many criticisms can be leveled at Brooklyn’s performance. But that’s where the NBA Twitter comes in, so we’ll let them run with it. If you’re looking for more humorous tweets, you can find them further down the page.

The Celtics’ current winning streak stands at 14 games, while the Nets’ current losing streak stands at seven games. This decline in performance is timed perfectly with Durant’s absence due to his knee injury. As a consequence, Brooklyn is now fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 31-20 record, while Boston is 2.5 games ahead of Philadelphia in the standings at 37-15.

Currently, they are two separate groups with opposing goals. Regaining Durant and, to a lesser extent, Simmons will be beneficial. Even going back to last year, the Celtics have been able to consistently outplay the Nets. Nonetheless, it hasn’t been any clearer than it was on Wednesday night. There have been blowouts, and then there was that.
