In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the US Government paid out economic relief funds to lower-income families and the unemployed all over the country. The IRS was responsible for sending out stimulus checks which have been discussed nationwide.
The economy took a spin with many people getting out of work. These checks made life a bit easier to navigate through during the pandemic.
In the third round of stimulus checks, brought about by the American Rescue Plan, the IRS issued more than 169 million payments of $1400 or more. These are not recurring payments, however, for the 4th stimulus check package, the Federal Government has shifted the duty down to the state administrations.
Therefore, it will be completely up to your state to issue the stimulus checks. Note that not all states are going to give stimulus package to their citizens
We have prepared a list of all 50 states, citing the current status of the stimulus checks.
Alabama: No likelihood of another stimulus check.
Alaska: Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) of up to $1236 to manage utility bills.
Arizona: Back To Work Funds of $1000 for getting a part-time job and $2000 for a full-time job to deter unemployment in the state.
Arkansas: No more COVID relief packages. Currently running Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) for providing food relief to low-income families.
California: Golden State Stimulus II for those who are eligible but didn’t receive in October.
Stimulus Update: 750,000 Bonus Stimulus Checks Sent This Week
Colorado: Cash assistance (TANF), child care assistance, employment assistance, energy assistance (LEAP) and food assistance (SNAP) relief packages are available to apply for on the state website.
Connecticut: $1000 ‘Back To Work’ check for those getting jobs after 8 weeks of unemployment
Delaware: No stimulus checks. $50 M federal stimulus money spent on the job and other ‘Back to Work’ programs
Florida: 4th stimulus check of $1000 paid to teachers and first responders.
Georgia: The education sector got $1000 and $500 checks as stimulus payment.
Hawaii: No stimulus checks. Other benefits are available though.
Idaho: No more stimulus checks after the $50 tax refund to taxpayers.
Illinois: No state-level stimulus check package. Other benefits are available like unemployment benefits, child tax credit, and earned income tax credit.
Indiana: No stimulus checks.
Iowa: No stimulus checks.
Kansas: Earlier stimulus checks are still left to be paid. The state of Kansas either refused, paid back, or failed to cash over 17 million dollars in stimulus checks (12,921 checks).
Kentucky: No stimulus checks. A cost-of-living adjustment of 5.9 percent is to be made next year which has many financial benefits for its citizens.
Louisiana: The Red Cross has worked to get emergency financial assistance to residents whose homes were severely impacted by Hurricane Ida, while survivors may be eligible for a one-time payment per household of 500 dollars from the government, as well as support for temporary housing.
Maine: No stimulus checks.
Maryland: The state has given out a stimulus check between 300 dollars and 500 dollars for those who filed for earned income tax credit. Plus, some 700m dollars were set aside for farmworkers and meatpackers.
Massachusetts: No stimulus checks.
Michigan: The state gave 500 dollar hazard pay bonuses to their teachers.
Minnesota: No stimulus checks.
Mississippi: No stimulus checks.
Missouri: No stimulus checks.
Montana: No stimulus checks.
Nebraska: No stimulus checks.
Fourth Stimulus Check Update The Checks and Support on Offer in These States (Check Update)
Nevada: Child Tax Credit sees between 3,000 and 3,600 dollars per child handed to almost all working families in Nevada. Half of the credit is going out in monthly payments, which started going out in July and will continue until December 2021, while the remaining half will be given through 2021 tax refunds.
New Hampshire: An American family of three with no income in New Hampshire receives a grant worth 1,086 dollars per month.
New Jersey: No stimulus checks. Possibility of 500 dollar tax rebates.
New Mexico: The process of receiving stimulus checks is ongoing. Application Deadline passed.
New York: A higher Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payment as of October, 2.1 billion dollar fund for undocumented workers who were unable to claim financial aid via the federal stimulus, distribution of $100 M to workers in tourism-related jobs that have disappeared, starting this November.
North Carolina: No information.
North Dakota: Payments ongoing for K-12 schools and students.
Ohio: No stimulus checks.
Oklahoma: $1200 ‘Back to Work’ checks.
Oregon: No information.
Pennsylvania: No stimulus checks.
Rhode Island: Despite online campaigns, no news of a 4th stimulus check.
South Carolina: No stimulus checks.
South Dakota: No stimulus checks.
Tennessee: Hazard pay for teachers who haven’t received it yet.
Texas: No information.
Utah: No more stimulus checks.
Vermont: Stimulus checks for workers who move to this state.
Virginia: No stimulus checks statewide except for one town.
Washington: No stimulus checks.
West Virginia: Check eligibility for stimulus check as many are unclaimed.
Wisconsin: Wisconsin Emergency Rental Assistance (WERA) program earlier in 2021, and Emergency Assistance program are available
Wyoming: No information.
