Chris Moyles Early Life
Christopher David Moyles was born on February 22, 1974, in Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. He is the son of postman Christopher Moyles and Hannah Moyles. Kieron, Chris’ older brother, is Kieron. Moyles attended Mount St. Mary’s Catholic High School, where he began his broadcasting career as a high school student at Wakefield’s Broadcast to Hospitals Service in West Yorkshire.
Chris obtained a position as DJ Carl Kingston’s assistant at Aire FM after leaving his job at WBHS. He was also a presenter for Radio Top Shop’s Leeds Briggate section during this time. In 1992, Moyles started working as a presenter at Radio Luxembourg after serving as the host of the Saturday night show on Aire FM.
After being sacked in 1994, he hosted “The Evening Bit” at Signal 1 in Stoke-on-Trent until he was fired. He hosted the evening show at the Pulse of West Yorkshire the following year. To avoid paying up to £1 million in taxes, Moyles “claimed to be a second-hand auto salesman,” according to a 2014 report. Chris responded to the claims on Twitter by claiming he had been informed that the plan was legitimate. Added, “Despite not being an expert in taxes, I followed recommendations. This was a mistake, and I wholeheartedly agree with the decision.”
