With its observations on the super-rich, ostentatious yet vain activities, and an eventual fall that is horrifying but fulfilling, it is fun to watch where it goes from there. “The Menu” is undoubtedly a unique movie in specific ways; it’s enjoyable to watch and leaves you thinking for a while.
Tyler and Margot (A Young Couple): The Menu Plot Summary!
Tyler and Margot, a young couple, wait at a pier for a private boat that is expected shortly and will transport them to a secluded private island for an exceptional gourmet experience. Being invited to the secret fine-dining restaurant Hawthorne, which charges an outrageous $1250 per person, includes the benefit of taking this boat excursion.
When Margot first hears this person, she is immediately scared, but her partner is particular that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The other guests—three young tech investors, Soren, Bryce, and Dave; an elderly businessman, Richard, and his wife, Anne; an aging actor from the movies, George, and his assistant and girlfriend Felicity; a well-known food critic, Lillian Bloom, and Ted, the magazine’s editor—all showed up shortly after.
Oysters and lemon caviar are offered as a welcome dish once the guests board the boat after it has arrived. From this point on, Margot begins to understand that her companion Tyler is almost totally devoted to the celebrity chef Chef Julian Slowik, who is in charge of the restaurant. She appears to find it unusual that the dish is just a twisted method of serving up everyday stuff in a fancy way.
Soon after, it is also made clear that Margot was not invited initially and had just substituted for another woman who was meant to travel with Tyler. Margot is repeatedly reminded that she is not supposed to go through this. She nevertheless participates when the visitors land on the island and are given a quick tour of it before going to the dining room.
She and the other guests have no idea that what they will encounter over the remainder of the evening in this hall will indeed be a once-in-a-lifetime experience but one they did not desire.

The Menu Ending Explained: What Happened To The Margot?
When Margot gets to the island’s shore, she discovers a small watercraft that she uses to leave the island. Slowik’s gloomy dinner party is still happening with the remaining attendees in the interim. The man had begged Tyler, the famed chef’s blind fan, to prepare something for him.
Tyler does this apprehensively because he thinks of himself as a chef, but Slowik mocks Tyler and his food after Tyler gives it to him. Tyler hangs himself to death because he cannot bear criticism from the person he has always looked up to. Slowik prepares his final course, a dessert of s’mores, with the other diners still present in the dining room.
The chef and his colleagues produce the same dish in a massive size as opposed to the typical rendition, forcing the customers to wear chocolate hats and marshmallows on their heads and bodies. Then, to cook the marshmallows, he starts a fire throughout the entire establishment, engulfing all visitors in flames.

The entire restaurant quickly catches fire, including the chef and his entire staff, and explodes. After a while on her journey, Margot’s boat appears to have run out of fuel, and she is now observing the explosion on the island. Margot pulls out the hamburger she had stashed away and bites into it, wiping her mouth with a copy of the menu that was also given to her in the gift bag.
What finally happens to Margot is purposefully left unanswered because her yacht is currently stranded in the ocean. The crucial truth is that she managed to leave the death trap island, which was accomplished by discounting Julian Slowik’s knowledge. Slowik likely anticipated her escape from the beginning, but he also took pleasure in the fact that there was someone prepared to expose him and openly question his reputation.
Furthermore, Slowik does not appear to care if Margot escapes because she is not truly a member of the gang Slowik is planning to use his scheme against. His entire plan, it would appear, was to dismantle the high-society, aristocratic figures who had fought for food to be such an exclusive matter. Slowik executes it by turning these people into life-sized s’mores and then cooking them to death in proper dark comic form.
