Rob McElhenney said there will be a second season of “Welcome to Wrexham” in 2023—the first season’s last episode aired on Wednesday night. McElhenney then tweeted that the show would be back next year.
The actor said –
“Tonight is the last episode of Season 1 of @WrexhamFX.”
Oops. Sorry. Tonight is the last episode of SEASON 1 of @WrexhamFX
SEASON 2 will return next year. I have a clause in my contract that stipulates I will not do anything less than 16 seasons of a TV show 🙂

“SEASON 2 will return next year. I have a clause in my contract that stipulates I will not do anything less than 16 seasons of a TV show”
– he added, a tongue-in-cheek reference to his long-running series
“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”
In “Welcome to Wrexham,” actors Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds bought and took over Wrexham AFC, a Welsh club in the fifth tier that wanted to move up the English pyramid.

Ryan Reynolds tweeted about the second season just one week after the first season ended on October 12, 2022, but we don’t know when it will come out.
We don’t even know what will happen in the second season—Reynolds and McElhenney’s first season as club owners spanned from September 2020 through the completion of the 2021–2022 season in late May 2022.
People think this second season will be a little shorter, covering only the 2022-2023 school year, which will end in early June 2023.
If that’s the case, it wouldn’t be crazy to think the show might start in late August 2023. Since the first season began on August 24, 2022, there is already a reason to stick to that schedule.
The show’s first season was about the end of the 2020-21 season and the 2021-22 season when Wrexham tried to get out of the National League and into League Two.
Wrexham’s current season, which began in August and will end in May, will be shown in season two. The show has been on FX and Hulu in the US, and in the UK, it has been on Disney+.
People in the U.S. who can’t get enough of Wrexham won’t have to wait until season two to see more because ESPN2 will show the club’s FA Cup match against Blyth Spartans this Saturday.
