The Weeknd First Feature Film: Journey From Music To Movie!

Singer, songwriter, and actor Abel Makkonen Tesfaye (born February 16, 1990) is better known by his stage name, the Weeknd. We’ll soon be able to see the Starboy on the big screen. 

The Weeknd’s representative had confirmed the singer’s first major film role. In addition to starring in and co-writing/executive producing the untitled film, “DiefFor You” singer/songwriter/producer Abel Tesfaye will write and produce the film.

 Executive producer and Golden Globe nominee for Wednesday Jenna Ortega will co-star with The Weeknd and Barry Keoghan is also included in the cast who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in The Banshees of Inisherin.

The Weeknd’s producing partner Reza Fahim who co-created the superstar’s upcoming HBO series The Idol Kevin Turen and Harrison Kreiss is also credited as the film’s producers.

Both the film’s plot summary and its scheduled release date are currently unknown. The Canadian superstar hinted in October on Instagram that the mysterious cult drama, “The Idol,” would premiere this year.

The Weeknd, a musician revealed in November that the second leg of his After Hours Til Dawn Tour would kick off on June 10 at Etihad Stadium in Manchester, England.
