The first comprehensive trailer for the upcoming anime Solo Leveling was released by A-1 Pictures on Tuesday. Since unveiling the series back in July of last year, the Japanese animation studio behind such shows as Sword Art Online, Kaguya-Sama: Love is War, and Nier: Automata Ver1.1a has kept a very low profile.
But, the series, which is based on a well-known webtoon, is scheduled to debut sometime in the winter of 2024. Finally, A-1 Pictures appears prepared to reveal their most recent work. Solo Leveling is set in a fantasy world where super-powered humans known as “Hunters” work as mercenaries (similar to Hunter x Hunter) and fight supernatural creatures to defend humanity.
Solo Leveling first appeared as a serialized web novel written by the pseudonymous Korean author Chugong in 2016 and was later adapted into a webtoon comic illustrated by the late Korean artist Dubu in 2018.

Sung Jin-Woo, a notoriously weak hunter who, in a scene reminiscent of Izuku Midoriya‘s initial encounter with All Might in My Hero Academia, is given a magical power known as “The System” that enables him to increase in strength without bounds, is the focus of the series.
Sung Jin-Woo takes advantage of the chance presented by this new power to eventually become the best hunter on the entire planet and unintentionally finds himself caught up in a conflict between two strong factions fighting for the survival of humanity.
Sun Jin-woo is depicted in the trailer immediately before receiving his powers, indicating that this teaser is most likely a preview of the first episode of the show.
The first episode of Solo Leveling will air sometime in the winter of 2024, and viewers in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and the CIS can watch it online on Crunchyroll.
