All eyes are on Anthony Davis as the Western Conference Semifinals return to Los Angeles for Game 6 between the Lakers and Warriors.
After receiving an unintended hit to the head from Warriors center Kevon Looney, the eight-time All-Star was forced to leave Game 5 of the series. His future status was described as “unclear” following the game.

Davis was fighting for position on the inside when Looney accidentally elbowed him on the side of the head. Davis was taken out of the game, returned for further treatment, and eventually ruled out of Game 5 due to a head injury, according to the Lakers.

Davis was being evaluated at Chase Center, according to Turner Sports’ Chris Haynes, with the possibility of a concussion looming as a possible diagnosis. Davis was wheeled into the locker room after his evaluation, according to Haynes.
Haynes later added that Davis “appears to have avoided a concussion and is doing better now,” which is a good indication for Davis and the Lakers.

The Lakers head coach Darvin Ham told reporters that he spoke with Davis, who “seems to be doing good already.”

In 32 minutes, Davis finished with 21 points (on 10-of-18 shooting), nine rebounds, and three assists.

According to Haynes, Davis is expected to be available for Game 6 “barring a setback.”

Between Games 5 and 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals series between the Lakers and Warriors, there is only a one-day break. If the Warriors force a Game 7, it will be played on Sunday, May 14, in Golden State.
