Fans of the Vinland Saga finally got a second season and got to see where Thorfinn’s story would go next after waiting for a few years. The first season of the show won a lot of awards at different anime events, so there was never any doubt that it would get a second season.
Fans have also liked this season, so people are starting to wonder if and when there will be a third season. I don’t think they will have to wait too long.
After the show started with a time jump, it was clear that the action and story of season two would be very different from season one. Even the company changed, with company MAPPA making the second season of Vinland Saga instead of WIT.

Even with these changes, it was still one of the best cartoons of the Winter and Spring seasons and of 2023 so far. In season one, the show was more about war and Thorfinn’s need to get revenge for his father’s death. In season two, it was more about how Thorfinn grew up and found out who he was outside of being a fighter.
Even though it was a change that came as a surprise at first, the amazing stories made up for the lack of action that may have brought many people back for season one.
That doesn’t mean that this season didn’t have any exciting parts, but this time around, it was the character growth that stood out the most, even though it still managed to keep viewers interested.

Will There Be a Vinland Saga Season 3?
As of now, there had been no news about Vinland Saga Season 3. But since anime works the way it does, that doesn’t mean much.
Based on how well the show has been received, it’s possible that it will be picked up for a third season in the next few months, if not right after the last episode of season two airs.
Unless an anime does really badly, they will usually keep making new seasons until they catch up to the source material or the book ends. Even after the end of season two of Vinland Saga, there will still be a lot of original material to talk about.
Since there are more than 100 chapters to adapt and the manga is still going, it’s safe to say that Vinland Saga will have more than one season.
With such a popular series, it’s possible that all of the manga chapters will be turned into anime episodes. Fans of Vinland Saga should hear about the state of season three by the end of 2023, if not sooner.
