G Herbo has decided to plead guilty in Massachusetts for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and making a false statement to a federal official, according to reports by the Chicago Tribune and The Republican.
As part of the deal, they will drop two serious charges of identity theft. The rapper is expected to enter his guilty plea in court later this month, and he could face up to 20 years in prison.
Pitchfork has asked G Herbo’s lawyer, James W. Lawson, what he thinks about the plea deal.

Back in 2020, G Herbo and five other men were charged in a federal grand jury indictment for their involvement in a defrauding scheme.
The indictment accused them of using stolen payment and credit card information to purchase private jet charters, exotic car rentals, designer puppies, and more.
After the indictment was made public, G Herbo’s management stated that the rapper maintained his innocence and looked forward to establishing it in court.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and even defended himself in the song “Statement.” However, he was later charged with making a false statement to a federal official.
G Herbo Agrees to Plead Guilty
According to Rolling Stones, G Herbo has agreed to plead guilty to wire fraud and lying to federal agents after being indicted by a federal grand jury in Springfield, Massachusetts in 2020.
Herbo was accused along with five associates — including promotor Antonio Strong — of using stolen identities to rack up to $1.5 million in fraudulent charges including private jet excursions, a trip to a villa in Jamaica, and “designer puppies,” according to the Chicago Tribune. The case was charged in Massachusetts as one of the private airline owners is based in the state.
While the plea deal still needs to be approved by the judge, Wright is set to formally plead guilty in July. He faces up to 20 years in prison, but is likely to get a lower sentence with a potential term of probation, according to court records.
