If you watch K-Dramas on a regular basis. And while you witness a heart-pounding scene between the main characters, your dopamine levels rise (for obvious reasons).
Then you learn that the main couple is truly dating in real life. That’s when we all lose our cool and the dopamine converts to adrenaline.
On July 3rd, the entire K-Pop, K-drama, and Hallyu world went insane after a Korean media outlet declared that YoonA and Jun Ho were dating. This may appear to be ordinary news, but in the world of K-Pop, it is a royal affair.
We just talked about their upcoming drama, King The Land, and how this OTP was long needed. The story of the queen of SM entertainment and the It-boy of JYP is similar to the Westside story.
Lee Jun Ho and Yoona as IDOLS hits differently. Clearly its their main job.

And it appears that the fruits of our collective manifestations are bearing fruit. PROOF, a Korean media outlet that reads-
An industry insider revealed to PROOF that Lee Junho and Lim YoonA had been dating before filming JTBC’s weekend drama King The Land — The two are said to have chosen this drama for that reason.
While fans were overjoyed with the news, there were some doubts regarding the source’s trustworthiness.
Why is It Possible for YoonA and Junho’s Dating Rumors to Be Fake?
In Korea, one prominent news outlet, Dispatch, is dedicated to celebrity dating scandals. This publication is well-known for searching the depths of the Earth and the skies for credible information on celebrities.
They have covered various “dating scandals” that have later been shown to be factual. And because of their dominance, they would always be the first to report any major link-ups. However, in this case, Dispatch was not the first to disclose such a serious dating rumor.
Instead, a relatively new medium, PROOF, founded in 2023, exposes such a monumental occurrence. Fans couldn’t believe that an unknown source could offer credible news. Some internet users noted that the outlet needed a major scandal to improve its prominence, so they cooked up a rumor to gain clout.
The most likely explanation is a public relations maneuver. King The Land is up against numerous dramas that aired at the same time or in the same month.
K-dramas are typically only 16 episodes long. Within this time span, they must find strategies to raise their ratings in order to compete. What better way to engage viewers than to ship the main couple in real life?
Descendants Of The Sun’s popularity increased when the main leads, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, began dating during the show. The Song-Song couple’s dominance even led to the creation of a statue in honor of the performance.
Fun fact: there is a statue of (now on the brink of divorce) Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo kissing in Taebaek city. pic.twitter.com/uxHz6zl2WM

The dating rumors surrounding Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin earned their show, Crash Landing on You, one of the highest-rated Korean shows.

Many internet users believe this is an attempt to salvage King The Land’s tired storyline. However, the numbers indicate differently, since the show received a double-digit rating of 12%, a rare feat in recent K-Dramas.
Another opinion holds that the competition channel is attempting to manufacture false rumors in order to affect ratings. JTBC has been producing some of the highest-rated shows in recent years, and “King The Land” is following suit.
Some feel that more established stations are attempting to lower their ratings by paying reporters to fabricate phony relationship problems involving the featured couple.

What Did YoonA And Junho’s Agencies Say About The Dating Rumors?
Both agencies have categorically dismissed all allegations about YoonA and Junho. YoonA’s agency, SM Entertainment, has issued a statement saying-
“The two are just close, and the dating rumors are not true.”
SM Entertainment: "The two are just close and the dating rumors are not true.”
JYP Entertainment: “The two are close, but upon checking [with Lee Junho], the dating rumors are groundless." pic.twitter.com/B6clWGhlAN

Meanwhile, JYP Entertainment rejected the claims, stating that they are professional actors who are good friends. Regardless of whether the reports are accurate or not, netizens have shown overwhelming support.
“Just leave them alone.. whether they are dating each other or someone else or not, it’s their personal life.. ! Let them be.. Rather talk about and enjoy the awesome work #Junho & #YoonA are doing in #KingTheLand.”
