The first comprehensive trailer for the upcoming anime Solo Leveling was released by A-1 Pictures on Tuesday. Since unveiling the series back in July of last year, the Japanese animation studio behind such shows as Sword Art Online, Kaguya-Sama: Love is War, and Nier: Automata Ver1.1a has kept a very low profile.
But, the series, which is based on a well-known webtoon, is scheduled to debut sometime in the winter of 2024. Finally, A-1 Pictures appears prepared to reveal their most recent work. Solo Leveling is set in a fantasy world where super-powered humans known as “Hunters” work as mercenaries (similar to Hunter x Hunter) and fight supernatural creatures to defend humanity.
Solo Leveling first appeared as a serialized web novel written by the pseudonymous Korean author Chugong in 2016 and was later adapted into a webtoon comic illustrated by the late Korean artist Dubu in 2018.

Sung Jin-Woo, a notoriously weak hunter who, in a scene reminiscent of Izuku Midoriya‘s initial encounter with All Might in My Hero Academia, is given a magical power known as “The System” that enables him to increase in strength without bounds, is the focus of the series.
Sung Jin-Woo takes advantage of the chance presented by this new power to eventually become the best hunter on the entire planet and unintentionally finds himself caught up in a conflict between two strong factions fighting for the survival of humanity.
