8-Year-Old Girl Rescued From K!dnapping by Her Brother Sh00ting Slingshot at His Head and Chest

A Northern Michigan girl has been rescued from k!dnapping thanks to the courageous actions of her older teenage brother. To protect the victim’s identity, state police are not disclosing the specific location, but we do know it happened outside of town in Alpena Township.

According to the Alpena Post of Michigan State Police, an 8-year-old girl was mushroom hunting in her backyard when a 17-year-old boy came from the woods, covered her mouth, and attempted to drag her back into the woods.

That’s when her 13-year-old big brother, who had seen what was going on from inside the house, jumped back into action.

On May 12, 9and10News confirmed the news with a tweet on its official Twitter feed. You may read the entire tweet published below:

Alpena Post Commander Lt. John Grimshaw said, “He was able to grab his slingshot and was able to slingshot something that hit the suspect right in the head. And that caused him to let go. The girl was able to struggle and get away and he sh0t another one hit the suspect in the chest and then fled the scene.”

The guy then fled and was eventually discovered hiding at a nearby gas station later that day. State police applaud the girl’s brother’s fast thinking for saving her and assisting in the identification of the culprit.

Grimshaw said, “But what he did also helped us to identify who the suspect was because obviously, he had inj*ries from getting hit with a slingshot.”

Grimshaw said, “Fight, fight, do everything you can bite the hand that’s held in your that has one hand over your mouth. If that’s the case, stomp on their feet, kick them in the shin and do whatever you can to fight. And then if your mouth is free, scream as loud as you possibly can.”

Because the suspect is under the age of 18, his name is being suppressed. He is currently being held in the juvenile section of the jail, with his next court appearance scheduled for May 17.

According to state police, the suspect admitted to intending to severely beat the little girl.
