Ubisoft has just recently disclosed information regarding Rainbow Six Siege Year 2 Season 8, Operation Dread Factor. This information includes the upcoming release date, additional information regarding the new Operator Fenrir, Gameplay, and more.
Operation Dread Factor Release Date
Operation Dread Factor will be added to Rainbow Six Siege On May 30, 2023. It comes after Operation Commanding Force and adds a new Defense Operator named Fenrir, a new tool, and some changes to the map. It also brings a lot of other changes, like changes to the Shooting range, changes to the quality of life, and more. We’ll go through each one one at a time.
Operator Fenrir of Operation Dread Factor
Fenrir, a Swedish Defender, is the new Operator coming to Rainbow Six Siege Operation Dread Factor. He is an Operator with 2 Health and 2 Speed. He is a smart Defender who is good at stopping the enemy from getting information. His device, the F-NATT Dread Mine, puts out a Fear Effect gas that makes it hard for anyone but Fenrir to see for a short time.
From their point of view, it looks like they are circled by a ring of purple smoke. This makes it hard for them to see past the smoke, so Defenders can get close without worrying about being seen, heard, or shot.
Fenrir has a total of five mines, but he can only use up to three of them at once. Fenrir can turn on and off his mines from a distance. This means that he doesn’t need to be able to see any of his mines in order to set them off. The player only needs to look in the direction of the mine and press the button to set it off.
Players will be able to see where the mines are put on the side of their screen. When the bombs are turned off, they are bulletproof and can only be destroyed by an explosion. When they are used, they lose their ability to stop bullets. If an attacker walks into the mine’s area of influence, the gas will start coming out.
As their main weapon, players can choose between the MP7 SMG and the SASG-12 shotgun. Fenrir only has the Bailiff 410 as a backup weapon. As a secondary gadget, he can bring either barbed wire or a Bulletproof Camera.
New Defender Gadget
The Observation Blocker, a new Defender tool, is also introduced by this action. When it is in place, it blocks the view of the drone and the Observation Tool. In other words, cameras won’t be able to see what’s behind an Observation Blocker. Before it can see anything, the drone or Observation Tool has to get to the other side. This sight block only affects the cameras, so it doesn’t have any effect on the Operators.
Changes to the Operation Dread Factor Map
This process changes how the FCOnsulate map works, giving players a whole new experience. All of the floors and sites were changed by the rework, which makes matches on the map more balanced, interesting, and gratifying. One of the most important changes is that spawning Attackers is made safer. With these changes, it will be easier for Attackers to get to the house without being shot.

Shooting Range for Operation Dread Factor
With the changes to the Shooting Range, players can now use the new Aiming Lane to test their skills even more. The new lane lets the player adjust their training by letting them choose different target types, target movement speeds, distances, and more. There is also a wall that can be broken. This lets players test how much damage their guns do to walls.
Balance Changes in Operation Dread
The first part of Grim’s balance changes, which are meant to make his gadget better, will happen during this process. The change to the balance makes his Hives let out their swarms faster and makes it more likely that they will catch close Defenders. The size and length of these swarms have grown. But once the Defender steps out of the swarm, they follow him for less time.
Other Changes to Operation Dread Factor
This change makes the game’s controllers look different, giving you more ways to shoot, crouch, and turn. Match Replay will also have a Free Camera. This lets players use a free camera while watching their replays, which lets them see their games from different views. Also, members of a Squad can now tell their Squad boss when they’re ready to play. This lets them skip the timer and start looking for a match.
There is now also a Permanent Arcade playlist that lets players play fun game types like Golden Gun, Headshots Only, Team Deathmatch, and more.
As was said above, Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Dread Factor will come out on May 30, 2023. The new operator will be added to the special battle pass right away. After two weeks, anyone can use Renown or R6 Credits to buy Fenrir and add him to their Rainbow Six Siege team.
