Alex Collins Cause of Death: the Shocking Truth Behind NFL Star Tragic Demise

Alex Collins, a former running back for the NFL and a star for the Arkansas Razorbacks, perished in a deadly motorcycle crash on August 14th, according to a Broward Sheriff’s Office police report issued by FOX Sports’ Andy Slater.

Collins, 28, was said to have been riding eastbound on a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle when he collided with a woman who was making a left turn at the time while operating a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban SUV.

“According to investigators, at some point, the Chevrolet driver proceeded to turn left to travel south onto Northwest 33rd Avenue,” according to the report. “As the car crossed the eastbound lanes, the motorcycle struck the rear passenger side of the SUV.”

“The impact caused the motorcyclist to enter the rear passenger side window of the Chevrolet and come to a final rest inside the car. The collision also caused the Chevrolet to rotate clockwise before finally resting.”

You can check the statements in the tweet we have provided to you below:

Collins was declared dead at the site, and the Chevrolet’s driver cooperated with the ongoing crash investigation by the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Collins’ passing was reported by the Baltimore Ravens, one of his previous teams, on Monday night August 14. The Ravens released a statement on their social media platforms saying-

“With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Alex Collins. Always quick to greet everyone with a smile, he was a genuinely kind person who carried a special joy and passion wherever he went. May Alex always be remembered for the light and love he brought to so many people in his life.”

Collins was taken by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft at No. 171 overall, and he spent his final two NFL seasons with the team.

The Seahawks wrote, “Absolutely heartbroken. Prayers are with the Collins family.”

Prior to his second NFL season, Collins signed with the Ravens practice squad. Following the team’s regular-season debut, he was moved up to the active roster. The Florida native started 12 of the 15 games in which he appeared and amassed a career-high 973 running yards and six touchdowns on 212 rushing attempts in addition to 23 receptions for 187 yards.

The first true freshman in SEC history to rush for more than 100 yards in each of his first three games, Collins was a three-year starter at Arkansas and joined Herschel Walker of Georgia and fellow Razorbacks star Darren McFadden as the only other players to rush for more than 1,000 yards in three seasons.

Arkansas stated on its social media platforms-

We are so saddened by the sudden and tragic passing of Alex Collins. He was a legendary Razorback and an even better person. His love for the Razorbacks and desire to be a Hog was undeniable. We will miss him greatly. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. #RIP3.

Collins joined the Memphis Showboats of the United States Football League in January but was placed on the injured reserve list after three appearances.
