The Marvel Cinematic Universe has never failed to impress and with each passing day, the fanbase is only growing for the good. From all of the characters coming together to take on the extraterrestrials to each character getting their own story and movie, Marvel Cinematic Universe has expanded its wings over the years. The latest offering from MCU, Thor: Love and Thunder has also got the fans excited with the solo of Chris Hemsworth. The return of the God of Thunder in a movie is something the fans were looking forward to for a long time. 

Thor 5 Release Date on the big screen

Thor: Love and Thunder was a delight of a watch for most fans because it was a Chris Hemsworth solo movie. What made it even more interesting is the ending of Thor: Love and Thunder. The way the movie reached the climax, did set up a major new storyline for Thor and the MCU as a whole which in turn left everyone wondering about Thor 5. Fans are already asking, “When will Thor 5 be released on the Big screen?”

Even though Thor Love and Thunder paved the way for another instalment of God of Thunder, Thor 5 could still be a long way off. Over time, we have seen how the fans of MCU have always wondered about what’s coming next. It’s no surprise that curiosity is quite high with Thor 5. The last Thor movie has created a stage that got a follow-up but the certainty and the timeline for Thor 5 is still under the cover.

With Thor: Love and Thunder, we saw the dynamic trio of Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, and Taika Waititi. It also brings Natalie Portman back into the fray. Not only does the film push the familiar characters into new unexplored territory, but it also introduces many new characters. With these new developments, it will leave the fans curious and wanting more. The biggest question is, will Thor 5 be ever released in theatres?

Will there be a Thor 5? 

The trend of MCU all this while has been quite different. When it comes to solo films, MCU has never gone beyond a trilogy. We have seen Iron Man and Captain American bowing out after the release of the third movie but with Thor, it seems like a different approach. Thor: Love and Thunder is the fourth instalment which means the Thor franchisee can stretch further with Thor 5 or maybe more in the future. However, when director Taika Waitti was asked about Thor 5, he said, “I haven’t thought about it as part of a new trilogy, because every time I make a film, I think, I’m never doing that again….’ because they’re just too hard.” 

Thor 5 to be released on the Big screen? Well, that is the golden question that everyone is wondering about. No one knows when it will go as Marvel’s stale has never been busier, with more and more offerings for streaming. Finding a space for Thor 5 for producer Kevin Feige could be challenging. Looking at the schedule ahead, the earliest Thor 5 could release is the summer of 2024. 

What can Thor 5 be all about?

 Now that we are getting a clue about when Thor 5 be released on the big screen; the next big question is what can Thor 5 be about? What could be the story and the plot for Thor 5? In a recent event, producer Kevin Feige mentioned that if there are any future Thor movies, it is likely to be inspired by Marvel’s source materials. We have seen some of the greatest stories of Thor being told on screen, but there are many left.

Feige also mentioned, “I’ve always said our interest in making additional stories is somewhat about continuing the character. It’s almost about continuing the experience with the actor.” A version of Thor that MCU has not touched upon yet features towards the end of the influential Jason Aaron run. It involves Jane Foster becoming Mighty Thor and Gorr the God Butcher’s rampage.

Any news surrounding Thor 5 is still yet to be revealed. If Thor gets a fifth solo outing, we can expect Chris Hemsworth to lead the cast once again. We can also expect to get Taika Waititi as a likely candidate for the director, along with Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie. It also seems that Td Lasso star Brett Goldstein could play a major role in Thor 5 if it releases. There was a mention of him as Olympian god Hercules in the Thor Love and Thunder post-credit scene.

As of now, neither we are sure Thor 5 will be released nor do we have any news of the story or cast. Only after the film is released, we can expect a trailer or a piece of further news.
