About Staples Center
Staples Center is a small arena, which was opened on 17th October 1999 in Los Angeles. After the cryptocurrency website, “crypto.com” purchased the rights to change its name, it would soon be known as “Crypto.com Arena”.
It is governed and functioned by the Arturo L.A. Arena Company and Anschutz Entertainment Group. Staples Center hosts over two hundred and fifty events and approximately four million guests each year.
It is the only arena in the NBA shared by two teams, as well as one of only three North American professional sports venues to host two teams from the same league. Staples Center is going to be the future venue of the Grammy Awards ceremony and would host the basketball competition in the Summer Olympics of 2028.
Staples Center was named after the retail office supply chain. It has been home to six championship Lakers teams, two championship Kings teams, and three championship Sparks teams.
The Name Switch From Staples Center to Crypto.com Arena
Today it has been announced that Staples Center’s name would be changed to “Crypto.com Arena” by December 25, 2021. This name change would occur under a rights agreement of twenty years signed between Cryptocurrency and AEG.

Since then, Staples Center has been hosting countless and unlimited events. AEG is a Singaporean company that deals with building management and is a platform for cryptocurrency also.
Currently, up till now the total economic worth and value of this deal between Staples Center and AEG are unknown but it is predicted to be around seven hundred million dollars roughly.

Events That Staples Center Would Host in Future
Staples Center inculcates more than eighteen thousand fans for basketball and hockey games. It would soon be hosting the Grammy Awards and would be an official venue during the 2028 Summer Olympics.
Moreover, The Lakers disclosed in May that they have signed a deal with AEG saying that they would continue playing all their games at Staples Center.
