Michigan Music Community Mourns Loss of 3 Rappers Bodies Found in Apartment!

According to a municipal spokeswoman, three remains discovered Thursday in the Detroit region are thought to belong to three rappers who had been missing for about two weeks.

According to Michigan State Police, who are in charge of the investigation and have not been able to confirm whether the bodies belong to the three missing rappers, they were discovered in a “rat-infested,” abandoned apartment complex in Highland Park, about 6 miles northwest of Detroit.

Lt. Mike Shaw stated in a tweet update on Friday morning that “due to weather conditions and the conditions of the victims, it’s unable to be determined just by sight alone.”

According to LaKisha Brown, a spokeswoman for Highland Park, the bodies are thought to be those of the missing rappers.

“As of now, we haven’t confirmed the identity of any victims inside or a manner of death,” the Michigan State Police Second District tweeted Thursday. “Please remember all victims have families, and we don’t have the luxury of guessing their identity and retracting if we didn’t get it right. Once information is confirmed, we will update.”

Armani Kelly, 28, Dante Wicker, 31, and Montoya Givens, 31, were three men who went missing; bandmates whose January 21 concert at a Detroit club was canceled, according to authorities. According to investigators, they ceased using their cell phones early on January 22.

Kelly’s mother, who reported him missing the following day, told police about their disappearance at first, according to Michael McGinnis, commander of major crimes for the Detroit Police Department. This week, McGinnis said, “That mother got very aggressive in the inquiry and started looking for her vehicle through OnStar.”

According to McGinnis, she discovered the vehicle near Warren, Michigan, which is not far from Highland Park. On January 23, authorities were able to retrieve the car.

“Other family members of the other missings come to understand that’s a friend of their loved ones, and they haven’t seen them too, so then they both get reported missing,” McGinnis said as the news of Kelly’s disappearance garnered national attention.

According to state police, a homicide task force was at the Highland Park complex Thursday night. State police reported that forensic scientists from the lab of the state police were also entering the structure and starting to gather information. “The building is in terrible shape, and rats are inside slowing progress.”
