Shooting During French Montana Music Video Filming Injures Multiple Persons

During the making of a music video for French Montana, there was a shooting that hurt several people. Thursday night, there was a shooting outside of a restaurant in Miami Gardens where South Florida rapper French Montana was making a music video.

Several people were hurt. Miami Gardens police Detective Diana Gourgue told NBC affiliate WTVJ that police were called to The Licking restaurant on Northwest 27th Street because someone had been shot.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue says that a total of 10 people were hurt. Six of them were taken to the hospital by ambulance, and four of them drove themselves there.

The confrontation that led to the shooting, according to the police, took place outside the restaurant. Ced Mogul, a rapper, told WTVJ that he heard gunshots when he was at the recording session for the French Montana music video, which took place behind the restaurant and a nearby KFC.

“Our hearts are heavy and go out to the victims of this senseless act,” The Licking, a restaurant group owned by DJ Khaled with multiple locations, said in a statement to CNN.

“We were not aware of a video being filmed and found out last min(ute) French Montana was shooting a scene in the back parking lot. We have no idea what actually took place. The Licking restaurant has nothing to do with the incident and has given police the necessary footage requested.”
