College Student Ben Bennett Killed in Cannon Mountain Skiing Accident

Cannon Mountain in Franconia, New Hampshire is where a young college student, age 21, tragically lost his life last week during a skiing accident, according to authorities.

On Wednesday, January 18, it was reported that Benjamin Bennett, who was considered to be an accomplished skier, had gone missing after becoming separated from a group of pals while skiing. After being lost for 90 minutes, the Summit patrol team found Bennett in the woods near the “Upper Ravine” trail.

It was the second ski accident that killed someone in New Hampshire in the past three days. Bennett showed no indications of life when the patrol crew discovered him.

According to his obituary, Benjamin Bennett was pursuing his education at the University of New Hampshire in the field of neurology. The obituary said that his friends and family will remember him fondly as someone who lived his life to the fullest.

Bennett was happiest when he was engaged in any activity that took place in the great outdoors, such as going on sunset treks, kayaking, riding, or skiing.

Bennett is survived by both of his parents as well as a total of 12 siblings. A fundraiser has been set up to assist with funeral expenses.

On Wednesday, January 25, at 7:00 p.m. there will be a celebration of life service held at the Crossroads Church in Pelham. All family and friends are invited to attend. Bennett’s passing occurs just two days after a teen skier was killed on Gunstock Mountain.
