The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 12 Recap

Lieutenant Nolan, who dislikes clones and hasn’t conducted any combat missions but is in charge of an operation to secure an Imperial depot on Barton-4 where local insurgents frequently target high-value cargo, represents the Empire here, as is typically the case, as a single front-office functionary.

Why Do Crosshair and Mayday Bond?

Hence, Nolan dislikes both Crosshair and the clone in control of the depot. Nevertheless, Mayday, who has been patiently waiting for assistance and has been vocal about it, doesn’t particularly like Nolan either. The implication is that the Empire has been effectively abandoning the remaining clones by sending them on distant missions; even here, they are only on the planetside because they are concerned about the cargo, the identity of which Mayday and his men have been unable to learn because it is too sensitive.

The clones are putting their lives in danger to safeguard the information that isn’t deemed significant enough for knowledge. Crosshair and Mayday, who are frequently dispatched on scouting missions for which they lack the necessary resources and are outnumbered, can’t help but get close.

Mayday is fully aware of how the clones have become unnecessary within the Empire and are receiving leftover supplies as the Imperial Army enjoys its new toys. Crosshair is aware of this as well but finds it difficult to believe after leaving his brothers to support the Empire. But he’s making progress.

Mayday suffers severe injuries after being caught in an avalanche, and Crosshair is forced to carry him all the way back to the depot. By the time they arrive, Mayday is close to passing away and in need of medical attention, but Nolan refuses to provide it. Crosshair kills Nolan in a fit of rage as he is dying on the ground.

What’s Next for Crosshair?

Crosshair regains consciousness as “The Outpost” comes to a close and discovers Emerie injecting him with something. This appears to be the start of the long-standing fan belief that Crosshair turns into the first Death Trooper.

It makes natural that the Empire would force him into service given that his loyalty to the Empire is now in doubt but that his skill set is still very much a valuable asset. In addition, having him chase after Clone Force 99 while wearing the famous black armor would be a nice setup for the conclusion.

What Happened Before Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 13?

Crosshair returns to action in Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 12, “The Outpost,” when he is paired with Lieutenant Nolan as they journey to an Imperial outpost on Barton-4 that is run by a clone named Mayday.

Two boxes of highly classified cargo were taken during the incident that took place in the aforementioned outpost. Crosshair and Mayday are directed by Nolan to search for the cargo. When they opened the cargo after finding it, they discovered a Stormtrooper armor.

They are forced to dump the payload and abort the trip as an avalanche cuts into their brief moment. Mayday was killed in this avalanche, and Crosshair had to rescue him from the snow and carry him to the outpost where Nolan refused to provide Mayday with the necessary medical care when he arrived.

Crosshair loses his mind and kills Nolan after Mayday succumbs to his wounds. Afterward, he passed out. As he awakens, he is in the Mount Tantiss hospital room, where Emerie Karr asks him to cooperate if he wants to live through the treatment he will experience.
