Resident Evil 4 remake by Capcom was generally highly received, however, one of the primary complaints was that it didn’t include the Mercenaries mode from the original game, which turned Resi 4’s tight, dynamic combat into hectic score-attack scenarios. Capcom guaranteed everyone that The Mercenaries will be included in the Remake; we just needed to wait a bit longer.
The wait is now over. The Mercenaries snuck onto Steam last night as a free DLC update for owners of the original game, like cunning gonads. Along with the release, Capcom also made a trailer for The Mercenaries. It is seen overhead.

The Mercenaries, like the main game’s remake, is “reimagined” by Capcom rather than being an identical replica of the 2005 game’s offshoot mode. It’s still largely the same in structure, as the trailer makes apparent. Killing foes raises your score and the remaining time as you fight waves of vicious ganados.
The Mercenaries’ remake adds a new feature dubbed “Mayhem mode,” which gives your character unique skills after you’ve filled a meter at the bottom of the screen. Depending on the character you’re playing as these skills vary. Krauser can momentarily change into his monster form, while Leon’s Mayhem mode gives him more strength and speed.
Players can face ganados as Luis and Hunk in the remake’s nu-Mercenaries in addition to Leon and Krauser. You are not currently able to battle as Ada or Wesker. But, there’s a good chance Capcom will include these characters in a future update, particularly if the developer intends to release a reworked Separate Ways DLC after Mercenaries, as is rumored.
