Lamar Odom, who used to play professional basketball, has said that he will put money into California drug treatment centers. Odom has been open about his struggles with addiction in the past. Now, he is on a mission to help people who are also fighting addiction and give them access to good treatment centers.
He has worked with a group of experts in the field to set up centers that offer a range of services, such as therapy, detox, and care for mental health. Odom’s own experience with addiction and his desire to help others have led him to want to use his platform to help people who are also struggling with addiction.
His investment in drug treatment centers is a big step toward solving the problem of addiction in the United States, which is still getting worse.

Lamar Odom Invests in Drug Treatment Centers in California
Throughout his sober experience, Lamar Odom wants to assist others. According to the organization’s website, the former NBA star, who has been candid about his battles with substance misuse, has established Odom Wellness Treatment Centers, a network of clinics in Southern California that provide recovery services for individuals who are addicted.
Odom shared a picture of himself with his partners and employees at one of his three treatment facilities on April 3. He wrote in the image’s caption, “Very Blessed.” God saved me so that I may save others. More than seven years have passed since Odom almost died from an overdose in a Vegas brothel in 2015.
Odom became sober as a result of the terrifying experience, which caused him to have several health problems, including kidney failure. During a recent appearance on TMZ Live, he spoke about his choice to invest in the facilities and said, “After God had saved me from that accident, I was trying to find my purpose—and I think I may have found it.” “I’m confident I’ve discovered it,”
Odom finds it “more fulfilling than people telling me what a terrific basketball player I was” to witness others begin their journeys toward addiction rehabilitation. It’s a major matter for me to have wellness and rehabilitation clinics, he continued. “These should be placed everywhere. Everywhere is awful for drugs.”
And Odom isn’t hesitant to tell his tale. After all, the athlete’s journey to rehabilitation was chronicled in his memoir Darkness to Light, which Khloe Kardashian, his ex-wife, commended for its straightforward treatment of addiction.
The Good American mogul revealed the memoir in a 2019 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. “A lot of these things wasn’t my place to ever talk about, but it’s his place since this occurred to him,” he added. “I genuinely believe it’s extremely brave of him to tell about the extent of his addiction,”
