This weekend in Foxborough, there is a worrying problem developing, as quarterback Matt Corral has reportedly been missing the squad for the past two days.
Corral has not turned up to Gillette Stadium for “meetings, walkthroughs, or practices” in the last two days. MLFootball shared a tweet on its Twitter handle that we have put it below-

His absence was surprising, according to one source, who stated, “He just left the team.”
The source said, “Let’s just make sure he’s OK. I don’t know if it’s mental health. I just know he kind of flaked out. … Let’s be careful this guy doesn’t get thrown to the wolves.”

Corral has already spoken frankly about his mental health struggles, so the only thing that concerns for now is that the 2022 third-round pick is protected.
Corral was grabbed by the Patriots off waivers less than two weeks ago after being released by the Carolina Panthers. He was designated as Mac Jones’ backup entering the Patriots’ season opener against the Eagles, but those plans have obviously changed in light of the events of the last two days.

Matt Corral is already classified as doubtful for the Patriots’ season opener against the Eagles. On Friday, New England declared him absent from practice for “non-injury” reasons. He did, however, practice on Wednesday and Thursday.
The New England Patriots quarterback depth chart has been reset, with the club signing Bailey Jappe to the 53-man roster on Saturday and placing Matt Corral on the exempt/left squad list.
