Matilda the Musical: Matilda The Musical is unquestionably a must-see for Roald Dahl fans. The Witches, The BFG, Fantastic Mr. Fox, James and the Giant Peach, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are just a few of the renowned and enduring children’s books by the British author.
One of his most beloved books, Matilda, first published in 1988 and subsequently made into a movie in 1996, continues to be read today. However, the book was transformed into a theatrical performance in 2011, and Matilda The Musical is a remake of that work. It was developed by Matthew Warchus, Dennis Kelly, and Tim Minchin.
The movie adaptation, which will be available on Netflix in the US on Sunday, December 25th, 2022, was directed by Matthew and stars Alisha Weir as the little girl who discovers she has extraordinary abilities and skills.

In the Matilda The Musical movie version, Matt Henry plays the doctor. Although the British actor has appeared in a few films, his main claim to fame is as a musician. He competed on The Voice UK in 2013 and finished fourth, so you may recognize him from that singing competition.
His interpretation of the Ray LaMontagne song Trouble led to the original song entering the UK Singles Chart. He was mentored by Jessie J and will.i.am. In 2019, he also appeared in Kinky Boots The Musical, where he played Lola.
His 2015 solo debut, Red Flare, debuted to 82k monthly listeners, and you can find his songs on Spotify. He has performed in well-known plays including The Lion King (as Simba), Miss Saigon (as John Thomas), Saturday Night Fever (as Caesar), The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe (as Mr. Beaver), and One Night In Miami, among others (Sam Cooke).

Matilda befriends the charming Miss Honey at school, where she may finally display her intelligence. Unfortunately, Miss Trunchbull, a tyrant who takes joy in punishing the pupils severely, is in charge of the school. When Matilda acquires telekinetic abilities, she enlists Miss Honey’s assistance, and the two collaborate to stop Miss Trunchbull.

Fans were given their first glimpse of Dame Emma Thompson’s portrayal of the evil Miss Trunchbull in the first trailer, which debuted in June 2022.
